Harry “Mr. Peepers” Reid has failed once more to accomplish anything in Congress. This time it was a jobs bill that Orrin Hatch co-sponsored and had some modest Republican support. After meeting with Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell, Reid reportedly had a hissy fit and pulled a vote on the bill. I forget again, which party has more votes?
I wonder if ole Harry remembers that he is the MAJORITY leader and that his party is in charge. His lack of competence is stunning, forget for the moment anything resembling real leadership.
Schoolyard bullies
If you went to any schoolyard today, I bet you the bullies are the future Republican leaders of Congress and the ones lying on the ground in the fetal position being kicked are future Democratic leaders. Child psychologists say these patterns do establish themselves at an early age. Perhaps there is some truth to the rumor (started here) that the burgeoning growth in zero tolerance policies in schools towards bullies is just a way to protect future Democratic politicians at recess.
Time for a change
If Reid couldn’t get it done when he had a 60-40 vote majority what does his party think he can do when he has a mere 59-41 advantage? Obviously nothing. Since it looks more and more like Reid will go the way of Tom Daschle and not be back next year, the Dems should change captains and try to right their sinking ship. It couldn’t be any worse.
